Plea in Delhi HC for reopening caved-in stretch to ease commuters’ woes

NEW DELHI: A lawyer has moved Delhi High Court seeking reopening of a key arterial link on Lala Lajpat Rai Marg near CGO Complex, whose closure since last November has caused nightmares for lakhs of commuters every day.

The plea, which is likely to come up for hearing this week, highlights the plight of daily commuters ever since a part of the road caved in close to a construction site opposite the Lodhi Road crematorium. The authorities have said the cave-in happened during construction at the CRPF building in the complex.
