PlayStation Network down — Sony confirms issues on PS5 and PS4 knocking gamers offline

Update (10 a.m. ET, October 1): The PlayStation Network appears to be returning to normal with the PlayStation status page now reporting features including "Account management" and the "PlayStation Store" functioning as expected. However, some users are still experiencing issues playing online on PS5 and PS4, so your mileage may vary. 

PlayStation Network is currently experiencing “some service issues”, confirms Sony via its own PlayStation status page.
