NEW DELHI: Former India head coach Ravi Shastri expressed reservations about including KL Rahul in the playing eleven for the upcoming Asia Cup. He cited the concern that it might be an excessive demand on a player who has been absent from competitive cricket for nearly four months.
Currently recuperating from injuries, both Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The expectation is that both players will recover full fitness before the Asia Cup slated to start on August 31.
