JAIPUR: It has been three years to the time when Yashasvi Jaiswal announced his arrival with a domineering performance at the Under-19 ODI World Cup in South Africa. Not many cricketers are able to build on the success achieved at the age group level, but the left-hand batter is going great guns as he chases his dream of playing for India.
The left-hand batter has entered IPL 2023 at the back of a successful domestic season, highlight of which was his record-breaking performance at the Irani Cup 2022-23 where he scored centuries in both the innings that saw Rest of India lift the trophy. Jaiswal became the top-scorer in the history of Irani Cup with 357 runs to his name. Also, the batter was the top-scorer for Mumbai this season at the Vijay Hazare trophy with 396 runs in six matches and was the fourth-highest run-getter in the Ranji Trophy with 315 runs in five games. Jaiswal also ended up as the second-highest run-scorer for his team at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with 266 runs from 10 games.
