Playful ex-stray who loves walkies is searching for family to explore the great outdoors with

A stray dog called Levi is just one of dozens of pooches who are waiting for the right family to come along at Manchester Dogs’ Home. The once-nervous pup has since come out of his shell at the kennels, and is ready to show potential owners all the love he has to give.

The large cross-breed dog is just over two years old, and arrived at the kennels as a stray. He was out of sorts and skittish at first, but within days, staff looking after him managed to earn his trust.

The handsome lad has proven playful and loves his toys, but is ‘at his happiest when out on his daily walks’.

Manchester Dogs’ Home said: “Levi loves nothing more than exploring the great outdoors and thoroughly enjoys getting his daily exercise. Although he walks well on the lead, he is very strong, which is something his new owner will need to be mindful of.

“Although Levi has met other dogs here at the home and has been good with them, he much prefers his own space therefore will need to be the only dog in the household.”

Levi will need his potential adopters to visit him at the kennels a few times before adopting him, due to him wanting to build a bond with people. He’ll be unable to live with cats, but can live with children over 16 with a family willing to continue his ongoing training and socialisation.

Other dogs still looking for a home, despite Manchester Evening News appealing for families to come forward, is British bulldog cross Scar , who needed not one, but two surgeries ahead of his adoption, and is now recovering well. Beautiful boy Boston also hopes to find a family, too, but hasn’t had a single appointment from potential adopters.

But it was good news for Gino, who had had ‘barely any interest’ until the M.E.N featured him, which prompted the blue-eyed boy being adopted within weeks. We love a happy ending.
