Player Prowl: Which Saints player would the Panthers want most?

It’s already evident, even after just one week of regular-season play, that the Carolina Panthers need to get quarterback Bryce Young some help. So, we’ll try to do that for them . . . hypothetically, of course.

For this edition of Player Prowl, where we snatch any player of our choosing from the week’s upcoming opponent, we’re going straight for wide receiver Chris Olave. Yes, it’s that simple.

Now, sure, the New Orleans Saints do carry quite a bit of talent—some the Carolina roster would certainly benefit from in a number of key areas. Running back Alvin Kamara, offensive lineman Ryan Ramczyk, defensive lineman Cameron Jordan, linebacker Demario Davis, cornerback Marshon Lattimore and safety Tyrann Mathieu are all contenders for our choice.

But none of them fulfill the combination of upside and need for the Panthers like Olave does. 2022’s 11th overall pick would be the No. 1 wideout in Carolina immediately, just as he is in New Orleans.

The 23-year-old had a very productive rookie campaign, reeling in 72 balls for 1,042 yards and four touchdowns—one of which came against the Panthers. And he’s already off to a big start here in 2023 after amassing 112 yards on eight grabs in last weekend’s win over the Tennessee Titans.

But, do you agree?
