Player grades: Kyle Kuzma hits game-winner as Bulls fall to Wizards

The Chicago Bulls lost their second-straight game on Wednesday as they fell in the final seconds to the Washington Wizards, 100-97.

Kyle Kuzma hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 6.0 seconds remaining to give Washington the lead and eventually the win. The Bulls failed to get a good shot off in their last possession to seal their fate.

Chicago took 13-point lead into halftime but a 20-point advantage for the Wizards in the third quarter gave them the edge heading into the fourth quarter.

Without DeMar DeRozan, the Bulls were led by Zach LaVine, scoring 38 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals on 15-of-28 from the floor and 4-of-11 from downtown.

Check out the player grades from Wednesday night’s loss below.

Zach LaVine: A

LaVine has been on a tear lately, looking like his All-Star self again, scoring 38 points on 15-of-28 shooting in Wednesday night’s loss. If DeMar DeRozan misses a substantial amount of games, LaVine will have to continue this play to keep the Bulls afloat.

Nikola Vucevic: B

In Wednesday’s loss, Nikola Vucevic finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and two blocks on 7-of-14 shooting. Like LaVine, if the Bulls want to stay in play-in contention while DeRozan may miss some time, Vooch must play like an All-Star.

Ayo Dosunmu: C+

Ayo Dosunmu finished with eight points, four rebounds, and three assists in 29 minutes on 4-of-6 shooting from the field in Wednesday’s 100-97 loss to the Wizards.

Patrick Williams: C+

In Wednesday’s crunch time loss, Patrick Williams finished with six points, six rebounds, and one block on 3-of-8 shooting from the field against the Wizards.

Alex Caruso: B-

Alex Caruso got the start with DeRozan out, finishing with six points, four rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block. Caruso was aggressive on the offensive end, which is new, but struggled from the floor, shooting just 3-of-11.

Coby White: B

Coby White finished with 13 points, four rebounds, one assist, and two steals on 5-of-11 shooting and 3-of-5 from 3-point range in 29 minutes off the bench. White’s scoring punch of the bench will be important if DeRozan misses several games.
