Square Enix announced that three playable demos are available for its upcoming title which is SaGa Emerald Beyond. These demos are accessible through different platforms which are the PC through Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch. With this, players have the chance to learn more about the core characters and get a head start on others even before the game launches. That's because the demo save data can be transferred to the full game on each respective platform.
Overall, the platform-exclusive demos allow players explore several hours of three different storylines.
Tsunanori Mido
Let's start with the demo for the PS consoles. It focuses on Tsunanori Mido who has the ability to manipulate kugutsu, or animated puppets, that protects the barrier around his home which is Miyako City. The city has actually been plagued with different kinds of supernatural phenomena. This is why Tsunanori makes the decision to go on a journey to other worlds to find four elemental spirits in the hopes of restoring order to the spiritual realm.
Ameya
For the Nintendo Switch, the focus is on Ameya. This witch-in-training visits Miyako City and lives in secret as a schoolgirl as a part of her graduation exam. One day she's attacked by an unknown person and this results in Ameya losing all of her magical power. She now has to find a way to regain what was lost and at the same time pass her final exam.
Diva No. 5
Finally, there's the version for the PC. This one is about Diva No. 5, a songstress mech from the world of Avalon that's been designed to sing and dance. After singing a forbidden song, her memory and singing functionality are sealed away. This causes her to lose her livelihood and music itself. In her despair, she discards her "human" body and, going with the flow, accepts an invitation from a secret society, leaving Avalon behind.
