The Platinum Jubilee celebrations are well underway with huge acts like Queen, Alicia Keys and Duran Duran performing at the Jubilee concert last night.
Today (Sunday, June 5) is the final day of the celebrations and the public will be able to enjoy a huge pageant around Whitehall and Buckingham Palace. If you happen to be in London the event is free to attend and will also be televised on BBC One, Sky and ITV.
But the Platinum Jubilee also meant that many of us received an extra day off work due to the extra bank holiday. Usually, at this time of year, the public does get to enjoy a day off due to the spring bank holiday.
Many people have been left a little confused by the extra bank holiday and have been wondering whether Monday is a bank holiday. Sadly, Monday is not a bank holiday and most people will have to return to work.
This year, to celebrate the Queen's 70th year on the throne another bank holiday was declared. It meant that Thursday and Friday were both bank holidays and most people were given a four day weekend. Officially, Thursday, June 2 was classed as the spring bank holiday and Friday was the Platinum Jubilee bank holiday.
