Plans to regenerate the site of a former Huyton biscuit factory could bring 150 new jobs into the area, according to documents submitted to Knowsley Council.
The proposals, for Huyton Trade Park on Wilson Road include plans to knock down existing buildings at the site and create dozens of warehousing, distribution and light industry units.
The move could bring millions into the local economy, according to a report submitted to the council as part of a planning application last week.

The area, which includes “tired buildings and underused land” could house 24 units across two buildings, with associated car parking for 177 vehicles and cover a 7740 square metre space on the site.
According to a report produced on behalf of Derwent Development Management Ltd, although 150 new jobs could be created, not all would be in the borough.
The report also claims the redevelopment would provide an overall “boost of around £5.8m to the local economy” through employment created and business rates.
While some of the trade park would be unaffected by the redevelopment, investments could be made in the future into the other units – although documents state this is a “medium-term ambition” and not part of the planning application.
The site had operated as the Huntley and Palmers biscuit factory for 30 years before shutting down in 1983. The site was then redeveloped into its current use as the Huyton Trade Centre.
With the buildings currently in place on the site ” not capable of economic repair” the proposal is for partial clearance before constructing the two new units – which would add over 2000 sq m of floor space to the site.
The application can be viewed online and will be open for comments before planners decide the next steps.
