A former Chinese restaurant in Newcastle city centre could be transformed into an 'all you can eat' world buffet under new plans.
The closed Lau's 202 Buffet House on Newgate Street may soon be home to restaurant chain Cosmo Authentic World Kitchen, which offers diners a choice of hundreds of dishes from around the globe. Plans have been submitted to Newcastle Counc il from FSG Signs & Graphics Ltd to display two illuminated signs with the Cosmo Authentic World Kitchen branding on the front of the building.
The restaurant chain, which was founded in 2003, says it offers "an authentic tour of the world’s most loved dishes under one roof." Diners can enjoy an unlimited number of courses for one set price every day, with dishes ranging from Asian cuisine to a carvery.

The plans for the black and gold signage were submitted to the city council on April 8 and are pending approval. The restaurant will be the chain's first in the city, should plans receive the green light from council planning officers.

As well as a menu made up of continental, Asian, carvery and deli dishes, diners will also be able to choose from an extensive range of desserts and free-flowing drinks.
