Plans revealed for Renfrew health and medical facility in move that would create 25 jobs

Plans have been submitted for a health and medical facility on the ground floor of an office block in Renfrew – a proposal that would create 25 jobs.

Private healthcare provider Circle Health Group wants permission from Renfrewshire Council to use space in the Sonas Building, Kings Inch Place, for the development.

The site – which is next to its Ross Hall Braehead Clinic – would be used for physiotherapy, a pre-assessment centre, administrative offices and a small laboratory.

A planning statement, prepared by agent Walsingham Planning on the group’s behalf, said: “The proposal is to use the ground floor as a health and medical facility operated by the Circle Health Group, and the upper floors will remain in use as offices.

“There is no proposed change to the appearance of the building.

“The proposed operating hours will match those of the Ross Hall Braehead Clinic, which is adjacent to the application site.

“The proposed development will provide a complementary function to that facility.”

The consultant explained why Circle Health Group has identified this specific location within Titanium Business Park for the facility.

It said: “The proposal needs to be located adjacent to the existing Ross Hall Braehead Clinic.

“The facility was recently opened and accommodates a comprehensive outpatient department.

“The facility has been purposely built out and has been a major success, satisfying the high demand that exists for private healthcare as a complementary offer to public healthcare.

“The ground floor of the Sonas building will provide additional complementary functions that cannot be provided in the Ross Hall Braehead Clinic; another location will not be appropriate from an operational perspective as the two facilities need to be near to each other to operate efficiently and provide an optimal offer for patients.

“Sequentially, there is no other site that can provide the needs of the applicant.”

Renfrewshire Council will make a decision on the application at a later date.
