PLANS have been revealed for a new public park along the River Clyde waterfront at the historic Govan Graving Docks.
Iceni Projects has submitted the proposal to Glasgow City Council to transform the land which lies to the east of the basin of the docks.
The public open space would include green space, pedestrian paths and seating such as timber and concrete benches and there would be flexible space for pop-up markets and community events.
The land also includes Stag Street and a small section of Clydebrae Street.
There would also be associated works completed including fencing, gates, and external fixing to the historic Pumphouse including the development of a plaza area outside the building.
Along the northern edge of the site, there would be significant tree retentions and proposed tree species to be planted include Silver Birch, Aspen, Willow, Alder and Hazel.
The proposal documents reveal funding has been secured for the project from the Vacant and Derelict Land Investment Programme.
This includes historic ship restoration at Dock 1, a development of flats along Govan Road and the basic, active travel routes through and beyond the site, improved green infrastructure and the incorporation of a 'Riverside Area' to the north of the site.
The target date for a decision on the green space plan is Tuesday, December 24.
