Plans for a drive through Starbucks next to Southport pier have been approved.
Plans for the coffee shop on Marine Parade in Southport were submitted to Sefton Council in December.
According to planning documents, the new Starbucks will include an outside seating area as well as indoor coffee shop and drive through.

Alterations will also be made to the existing Ocean Plaza car park as part of the plans, leading to a loss of 51 car parking spaces.
In documents submitted by the developer it is claimed the development would “activate an under-utilised site which benefits from a prominent position.”
The planning application also states the Starbucks would add a new amenity for visitors to Ocean Plaza and complement the existing tourist offer in the area.
Commenting on the proposals, Sefton Council’s head of planning Derek Mckenzie said that while the Starbucks will sit next to Grade II listed Southport pier and within a conservation area, the “modest” single storey building “will not detract from the setting of the pier, particularly as the pier extends beyond this site.”
Mr McKenzie added: “The use of the site as a drive through coffee shop will not affect the character or appearance nor lessen the historic significance of this conservation area.”
An approval notice was issued to the developer on March 4, meaning the development can now go ahead subject to conditions, and Southport may soon have its own pier-side drive through Starbucks.
