Plans for a new Wetherspoons venue in Shawlands have been scrapped by the pub giants.
The company were looking to open a new bar on Moss Side Road on the site of the former Tusk nightclub and even altered the the premises licence
It was hoped that the venue could replace its pub on Kilmarnock Road, the Sir John Stirling Maxwell, which closed earlier this year.
However, Wetherspoons have now confirmed that the site is now being put up for sale and won't be developing it further.

They stated that the decision was a 'commercial' one.
Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “Wetherspoon can confirm that it is to put its site at Moss Side Road, Glasgow, on the market, for sale.
“The company will not be developing the site into a Wetherspoon pub.
“This is a commercial decision.”
