Plans for new Morrisons shop to open in Aspley

Plans have officially been put forward for a convenience store in Nottingham to be changed into a Morrisons. Under the proposals the existing McColl's in Aspley Lane, Aspley, will be turned into a Morrisons Daily.

McColl's is owned by Morrisons, with many of its stores making the same transition since 2021. Plans submitted to Nottingham City Council by Alliance Property Holdings Limited on June 29 also include minor alterations to the site.

They say minor alterations to the layout of the premises will be made and have asked to add new conditions to the premises licence. The plans continue: "To change the name of the premises from ‘McColls’ to ‘Morrisons Daily’.

"To remove some outdated embedded conditions relating to the hours for licensable activities."

The name of the store has already been changed to 'Morrisons Daily' on Google Maps.
