A CONSULTATION is set to take place after plans for a huge Edinburgh village were unveiled.
A major new development is proposed that would transform the former brewery site at Fountainbridge.
Plans for the vacant site next to Union Canal would see hundreds of residential and commercial buildings constructed.
Now, locals have been asked for their input, with a consultation on the proposals launching this week.
Plans for the site were originally lodged in 2016 and saw the council agree on a regeneration project that would build 430 new houses and extend Boroughmuir High School.
Cruden Homes will seek to build apartment blocks seven or eight stories high with new shops and smaller blocks included too.
Locals can expect eco and rooftop gardens on most of the sites as well as private buys and social housing.
Developers say the current regeneration plans for the brownfield site will include 464 new homes, including a minimum of 150 new affordable homes and community growing space.
The developers are initiating a public consultation on the proposals on Thursday. The development team will be available from 3pm to 7pm to help locals with their questions.
