
The government is planning to support smaller developers through quicker planning decisions and financial support, in an effort to accelerate the construction of new homes.
The proposals include cutting bureaucracy and shifting planning decisions from councillors to expert officers, as part of a broader strategy to meet Labour’s commitment to build 1.5 million homes by 2029-30.
