Planning and design consultancy Marrons has appointed a new planning director in its Bristol team.
Craig Platt joins the Midlands-headquartered firm, at its office on Queen’s Square in the centre of Bristol. He brings 10 years of experience from South West regional housebuilder Thakeham Homes where he was a senior planning manager, assisting on its expansion into Thames Valley.
Prior to this Mr Platt spent more than five years at planning and design consultancy Barton Willmore, where he rose through the ranks.
As part of its growth strategy into the South West, Marrons expanded into Bristol in December 2022 with the creation of a new architecture team. In his new role, Mr Platt will be developing Marrons’ planning offering in the South West and Thames Valley, working closely with his architecture, heritage and socio-economic colleagues based out of the Bristol and London hubs. He will also be supporting clients wishing to unlock the potential of their brownfield and greenfield sites.

Mr Platt said: “I am thrilled to now be a part of Marrons – a progressive and innovative consultancy – and to have joined a number of former trusted colleagues who I have worked with extensively previously. I am looking forward to seeing Marrons become one of the leading multi-disciplinary consultancies in the country that adds real value for clients.”
Brian Mullin, partner and head of Marrons, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Craig to the team. He is a real talent and, given his expertise and experience, will be working with the wider planning team nationwide on some of the more complex London and South West instructions.
“He has worked extensively in the Home Counties and within the Thames Valley, and we are looking forward to seeing him develop our planning offering in the South West too.
“Craig has particular interest in the later living sector, as well as unlocking regional potential through mixed-use communities and regeneration schemes. Given his experience both at consultancy and client-side, Craig has an acute understanding of different clients’ various commercial needs.”
