Dozens of San Diego County neighborhoods are scheduled to lose power for stretches of several hours between Wednesday and Friday while crews carry out repairs and system upgrades, and for households that run oxygen concentrators, CPAP machines, powered wheelchairs, or refrigerated medicine, that is a medical planning problem rather than an inconvenience.
San Diego Gas and Electric's outage detail list shows planned work affecting Ocean Beach, Lemon Grove, San Ysidro, La Jolla, Escondido, Valley Center, Ramona, Clairemont, City Heights, Oceanside, Fallbrook, El Cajon and other communities across the county. Most daytime windows run between about three and eight hours, a few are much shorter, one runs most of a working day, and several are scheduled overnight.
