A plane crashed on Tuesday night on Catalina Island off the Southern California coast near the island's private airport. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on the island, which is situated approximately 25 miles off the shoreline south of Los Angeles. At this time, it is unclear if there were any injuries or fatalities resulting from the crash.

Authorities from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Avalon Sheriff’s Station are currently responding to the situation. Supervisor Travis White of the Fire Department confirmed the crash but did not provide specific details regarding the type of aircraft involved or the extent of the damage.
