'Pizza restaurant of the year' opens new Glasgow location

A RESTAURANT named "pizza restaurant of the year" has opened a new location in Glasgow.

Rockvilla first opened on Possil Road in the Port Dundas area of the city five years ago and now it has expanded its offerings and will operate from two venues.

Known as Rockvilla East, the second eatery is now open at Tullis Street near Glasgow Green.

The restaurant, named as the best for pizza in Scotland at the the Scottish Restaurant Awards 2024, now want to celebrate and involve their customers.

Speaking to GlasgowLive, Jim McLaughlin of Rockvilla said: “We have just turned five so what better way to celebrate than bring our fresh, authentic pizzas to even more people in the city centre?

“We’re really proud of what we do – the love and respect is poured into every pizza we make. We treasure every slice and we hope you will too. It’s the Rockvilla way.”

The Rockvilla team also teased that more pizzerias could be coming to the city very soon, and they have launched a deal where customers can get a free margherita pizza if they spend £15.

McLaughlin added: “We want to celebrate the new place, plus the fifth birthday and winning the Best Pizza Restaurant in Scotland award – it’s been a good summer so far despite the weather.

“We have massive plans – look out for Rockvilla West and Rockvilla South coming soon.

“For now we are delivering to as much of the city centre as possible, and the east End, and of course our original spot has seating for a restaurant experience – award-winning too!"
