A pizza restaurant bringing "anarchy in the oven" to Nottingham will be giving away 1,000 freebies to celebrate opening. Pizza Punks promises San Franciscan sourdough pizza with unlimited toppings.
The Nottingham restaurant, in Fletcher Gate, will be the eighth for the company which also has sites in Glasgow, Leicester, Durham and Liverpool. The 180-seater restaurant will also be the biggest when it opens on Thursday November 17.
Describing themselves as "anarchist and anti-establishment outlook," they say: "We stick the finger up to the corporate chains run by money men – by putting people and products before profit." Pizza Punks offers a distinctive pizza experience – create your own with 35 unlimited toppings to choose from all for one flat fee.

As well as the expected olives, red peppers and pepperoni pizza fans can choose something out of the ordinary such as black pudding, garlic and rosemary roast potatoes, and sriracha caramel pork belly. There will also be halal, vegan, gluten-free and vegetarian options.
At the helm of the restaurant is the brand’s handcrafted pizza dough, that is proofed for 48-hours to generate maximum flavour. Pizza Punks have taken all of the best bits from Neapolitan pizza dough by using the finest Italian ingredients and methods before ripping up the rule book and introducing them to the aged sourdough starter sourced from San Francisco.
It's finished with San Marzano tomato, basil and garlic sauce and mozzarella. The pizzas are cooked in wood-fired ovens for the ultimate thin and crisp base with a deliciously chewy thick crust.
Pizza Punks' customers can also try fresh pasta, hand-made in the restaurant each day. As with the brand’s bespoke approach to pizza, guests will be given the option to punk up their pasta with a choice of sauces and Italian ingredients. Guests can choose from toppings such as 'nduja, Tuscan sausage and salt and chilli chicken.
The restaurant, in units 2 & 3 of One Fletcher Gate by the Lace Market tram stop, will also feature regular DJs and live music, neon lights, cool artwork, monochrome brick tiles and a stripped back aesthetic.
