Pixie Lott finally reveals plans for her 'big party' wedding after six-year engagement

Pixie Lott has been revealing all about her upcoming wedding to fiancé Oliver Cheshire.

After having to cancel their nuptials several times, the Cry Me Out singer has confessed the couple's big day is finally coming along nicely.

Pixie, 31, and model Oliver, 33, had planned to tie the knot last year, but due to Covid-19 restrictions and pandemic complication, the happy couple were forced to put their wedding plans on the back burner.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Pixie has revealed how their new wedding date is now 'really creeping up' on them, and discussed her excitement about finally getting to have a 'big party'.

"It’s going good! We’re getting into the nitty gritty now," the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant admitted when asked how wedding planning was going.

"I always felt like it was so far away, but it’s really creeping up on us now. We’ve had to move it a few times because of the lockdowns in the pandemic, so we’re happy that we’re finally doing it. It’s been a long time coming!"

Oliver popped the question to the singer in 2016, with the pair initially planning to marry in 2018, before Pixie's career commitments saw them push the date back.

Thanks to the ongoing pandemic making planning large gatherings rather tricky to plan, Pixie's wedding day has been postponed longer than she originally planned - something she admits was 'tough' to go through.

"But we obviously weren’t alone, so many people had to move their wedding and postpone everything. I’m just so happy that things are going ahead," the star reflected in her new interview.

"But we knew we had to do it and we weren’t the only ones."

The All About Tonight singer went on to reveal she's planning a big party for lost time, saying: "I didn’t want to do it when there were restrictions and we couldn’t invite everyone we wanted because of the rules.

"I wanted to wait until we could have the big party – our wedding will be a big party!"

Pixie and model Oliver got engaged outside St Paul's Cathedral in London in November 2016, after dating since 2010.

Speaking in the past, the singer has said she plans to have 18 bridesmaids, with her sister acting as her Maid of Honour.

"There’s a lot to be done, we haven’t really made that many decisions but I’ve got my 18 bridesmaids and loads of hen-dos hopefully that my sister's organising," Pixie told The Sun shortly after getting engaged.

The Boy and Girls singer also revealed her plans for a traditional wedding dress.

"I want something classic. I want to look back in 20 years and still be happy with it. "Nothing too trendy. I don’t want to be like: What was I thinking?' So no bright pink hair," Pixie confessed at the time.
