Pitfour's 2006 team show togetherness and work ethic in title-winning season

What a season it has been for Pitfour 2006.

And at the weekend the talented Perthshire team were officially crowned champions of the Bodycare Complimentary Clinics League.

A tremendous campaign has Pitfour proudly at the summit of the standings following an impressive record of 18 wins and one draw. The latest triumph arrived on Sunday against Mearns Youths.

Nearest challengers in the league were Ferry Athletic, St Andrews Colts and Carnoustie Panmure but all significantly trail the title-winning local lads.

The consistent nature of performances has delighted manager Richie Davie, coach David Reid and goalkeeping coach Andy Stewart.

“I think the team’s success has mainly been down to their togetherness and work ethic,” said David.

“We’ve seen a real improvement in the standard of training and that has played into matches.

“We’re also lucky to have some of the most technically gifted players I’ve worked with.

“We’ve got a real blend of good old fashioned footballers who don’t overcomplicate the game as well as some flashy talents who like a bit of trickery.”
