Pit bull stabbed to death in Central Park during quarrel between NYC dog walkers

A pit bull was stabbed to death in Central Park by a switchblade-wielding attacker who got into a quarrel with the dog’s owner, police said.

The stabber was walking three dogs without a leash when he encountered, Eli, a German shepherd pit bull mix, who was being walked by his 43-year-old owner and a 51-year-old man she was with, cops said.

The couple was also walking a chihuahua when they ran into the stabber near E. 106th St. and East Drive about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, cops said.

An argument ensued and the stabber’s unleashed dogs started biting Eli and the chihuahua, cops said.

When the woman tried to separate the dogs, the unleashed dog’s walker pulled out a switchblade and stabbed Eli, mortally wounding the pooch.

The stabber ran off and has not been caught.
