British actors John Boyega, Jodie Turner-Smith and Simone Ashley are among the stars of the 2025 Pirelli Calendar, which is set to be unveiled at the Natural History Museum in London on Tuesday night.
The project, shot by acclaimed American fashion photographer Ethan James Green, is a modern tribute to the iconic Pirelli Calendar’s roots, celebrating beauty in a sensual and deeply artistic style.
Titled Refresh and Reveal, the calendar features an impressive lineup of actors, artists, singers, and models from diverse backgrounds, many of whom have worked with Green before.
Alongside Boyega, the calendar also stars Hunter Schafer, Vincent Cassel, Padma Lakshmi, and artist Martine Gutierrez. These images capture an inclusive, contemporary vision of beauty that both honors tradition and reflects today’s evolving standards.
Green, a Michigan native now based in New York, joins an exclusive list of 43 legendary photographers who have created for Pirelli since its first calendar in 1964.
Known for his fashion photography and evocative portraits, Green marked this milestone project with a talented creative team, including Tonne Goodman, former Vogue fashion editor, who served as the project’s fashion director and creative consultant.
The photographer discovered he had been chosen to shoot the calendar on his 34th birthday, calling the experience “a great honour” and “an unexpected gift.”
“Our general idea of beauty has expanded so much from what it used to be. I was excited to explore beauty today and to be able to present it in a context like the Pirelli Calendar, which has always celebrated it,” Green said of the inspiration behind the 2025 calendar.
“We called the concept ‘Refresh and Reveal’ because we’re returning to the Calendar’s origins and celebrating the body in new ways that reflect the current moment.”
The shoot took place between May and June, set against the historic backdrop of Miami’s Virginia Key Beach Park, with a temporary studio built on location to capture the ideal shots.
The finished product showcases 24 striking images, with each of the 12 featured subjects captured in both color and black-and-white.
In an interesting twist, Green himself appears among the subjects, making him only the third Pirelli photographer to include a self-portrait, following Prince Gyasi in 2024 and Bryan Adams in 2022.
