More than 90 per cent of responses about the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) process were negative, according to the Timms Review, which was based on 38,713 responses from disabled people, carers, organisations and professionals.
The review found that PIP itself remains widely valued, with between 50 and 58 per cent of respondents expressing positive views of the benefit. However, criticism was concentrated on how people apply for, are assessed for and receive PIP, with only 5 per cent of responses about the process described as positive.
