We all know and love Pinterest. It’s our safe space, our hub to unleash our creativity, design homes, plan outfits, suss the latest trends, and drop a million hints to your partner on the type of engagement ring you want. And our favourite report of the year is finally here: Pinterest Predicts 2026.
This is Pinterest’s report on the top trends we can expect to see next year. And according to the brand, trends are growing 4.4x faster than they were seven years ago. If you’ve fallen victim to a micro trend, don’t be ashamed — you’re not the only one.
Because the trend cycle has been so speedy over the last few years, people are getting tired of jumping from thing to thing. According to Pinterest, 2026 will be about combating trend fatigue through personal exploration and curating, rather than copying.
Alas, there’s always gonna be a trend to follow. That’s culture, after all. And Pinterest has predicted 21 different trends that focus on personal exploration that are going to dominate 2026 across fashion, food, homewares and lifestyle.
Pinterest Predicts 2026: The 21 Trends We’re Embracing Next Year

Gimme Gummy
Delicate minimalism and neutrals are out. Just like the revival of jelly sandals, the ‘gummy’ aesthetic is making a comeback. Think bendy phone cases, jelly-like makeup, 3D nails and colourful, nostalgic jewellery.

FunHaus
Vanilla homes, begone! No judgement if that’s your cup of tea, but circus-core homewares and furniture is in, baby!

Throwback Kid
Children in 2026 are gonna be looking nostalgic for an age they didn’t live in — but hey, it’s gonna be cool! Think classic wooden toys, vintage-inspired outfits, crocheted play mats and cosy vibes. The search for “1970s childhood toys” was up by 125 per cent, so it looks like parents are trying to pry their kids away from the iPads.

Pen Pals
“Cute stamps” is up 105 per cent in search, “snail mail gifts” up 110 per cent, and “hand written letters” up 45 per cent. Whether Australia Post sees an uptick in snail mail or people are getting sentimental with the handwritten letters is something I’m eager to see.

Cabbage Crush
Apparently cauliflower was a huge food trend in 2025??? Personally, I didn’t see it, but have been a cauliflower fan since my mum’s cauliflower cheese blessed my taste buds at age three. ANYWAY, wave goodbye to the cauliflower recipes and say hello to cabbage, the new kitchen MVP. Kimchi cocktails, dumplings, and crispy cabbage taco wraps will be on your Pinterest feeds next year.

Afrohemian Decor
“African boho living room” and “Afro chic home decor” are trending up on Pinterest, signalling a growing appreciation for warm, earthy palettes, artisanal textures and globally inspired craftsmanship. Bamboo beaded curtains, Ethiopian art and rattan chairs are some of the home decor pieces that people are searching for.

Glamoratti
Maximalism is back, baby! Chunky belts, baggy suits, chunky gold jewellery and ’80s luxury are all trending in search. We’re already seeing this trickle into the fashion scene, and it’s going to continue to grow.

Poetcore
Is ‘poetcore’ a recession indicator? Everyone’s getting angsty, with “the poet aesthetic” up 175 per cent in search volume. Time to get that notepad out.

Khaki Coded
Khakis and utility-inspired outfits are climbing back into the spotlight, with structured cargos, belted jackets and practical, pockets-galore fashion taking over 2026 mood boards.

Neo Deco
The Art Deco trend is twisting into chrome and brassy glam. After years of minimalism, Gen X and Millennials are opting for strong geometry and eccentricity.

Glitchy Glam
Much like minimalist fashion and interiors, the ‘no makeup makeup’, clean-girl aesthetic is on its way out for 2026. Colourful eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mismatched nails are gonna be everywhere, with “eccentric makeup” search up 100 per cent and “nails with different colors on each hand” up 125 per cent.

Brooched
According to Pinterest, Boomer and Millennial men will be accessorising their fits with vintage pins, crystal clip-ons and heirloom brooches. I’m here for the men putting more effort into their dressing!!

Laced Up
We saw lace skirts and pants trend over summer earlier this year, and it’s going to grow to be even more popular in 2026. From nail art to bandanas and crochet hats, people are curious as to what they can do to be doily-chic.

Scent Stacking
Fragrance layering will be replacing singular viral scents next year. From the looks of things, like “niche perfume collection” search being up 500 per cent, people are desperate to stop smelling the same.

Vamp Romantic
Think dark, romantic makeup, black nails and smokey eyes. Time to dust off that eyeliner pencil!

Cool Blue
We’ve had burgundy, butter yellow and cherry red, but now it’s ice blue’s time to shine. Come winter time, we won’t be surprised if this is one of the biggest colours in fashion. “Frosted makeup” is also up 150 per cent in search, so we’re hoping to see some fun makeup looks, too!

Wilderkind
Animal-chic is here in more ways than printed fabric. Tabis — or the toe-wedgie shoe as I like to call them — are absolutely everywhere, and people are searching for animal inspired aesthetics, jewellery, nails and outfits.

Extra Celestial
From holographic home accents to abstract earrings and shimmery eyeshadow, aliens are in. “Alien-inspired makeup” has a 140 per cent increase in search, and “alien core aesthetic” is up 80 per cent, too.

Opera Aesthetic
No, we’re not belting operatic tunes (although you can give it a shot). The opera aesthetic is all about drama — think big draping, opulence and vintage-inspired decor.

Mystic Outlands
Japan was the ‘it country’ to travel to this year, but according to Pinterest, next year is looking to be a little more fairy-like. The search for “Scotland highlands aesthetic” is up 465 per cent, “Faroe Islands Aesthetic” is up 95 per cent, and “ethereal places” is up 45 per cent. Turns out we’re all looking to add a little more whimsy to our lives.

Darecations
Lazy vacations are out in 2026, according to Pinterest. With searches for “adrenaline rush aesthetic”, “adventure tourism”, and “auto racing events” all trending in search, people are looking for full-throttle thrill.
