Pilot pays tribute to US troops killed in aircraft crash with flight path artwork

A pilot has paid unique tribute to three Ohio Air National Guardsmen who died in a refuelling tanker crash in Iraq earlier this month.

Captain Seth Koval, Captain Curtis Angst, and Master Sergeant Tyler Simmons were among six troops who died when their aircraft crashed over friendly airspace in western Iraq, during a mission in support of Operation Epic Fury.

Flightradar24 posted flight tracking data showing a pilot’s tribute to the lost Guardsmen as an image of service member saluting three headstones was drawn in the skies over Ohio.

Maj. John A. “Alex” Klinner, 33, who served in Birmingham, Alabama; Capt. Ariana Linse Savino, 31, of Covington, Washington; and Tech. Sgt. Ashley Pruitt, 34, of Bardstown, Kentucky also died in the crash.
