Pilot and passenger make 'miraculous' escape after plane crash

A pilot and their passenger made a "miraculous" escape from their light aircraft after it crash landed nose first in dense woodland. Pictures taken from the scene of the incident showed the crumpled wreckage of the grey plane lodged in trees, with its right-hand wing almost torn off.

Fire crews from Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire said they were called to the horror crash yesterday afternoon. The aircraft came down on the border of Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, and the teams made the scene safe after confirming the passengers were unhurt.

A spokesperson for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Yesterday afternoon, crews fire services were called to an incident involving a light aircraft on the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire border. Miraculously both the pilot and passenger were uninjured and out of the aircraft.

"After making the scene safe, disconnecting the battery and ensuring no fuel could leak the crews left the incident."
