Piers Morgan has given his forthright opinion on the crumbling Conservative government and has urged Boris Johnson to be the next to leave Downing Street.
The Prime Minister has been rocked by the surprise resignation of both his Health Secretary Sajid Javid and then minutes later, his Chancellor Rishi Sunak on Tuesday evening and former Good Morning Britain host Piers believes it's time for Boris to go as well.
Following the 'Partygate' debacle, Piers said that there is no longer any chance that the Prime Minister could carry on in power and he urged on social media for him to do the right thing.
As the news broke, Piers took to Twitter to post a copy of the Chancellor's resignation minister along with the words: "WOW!!! Chancellor Rishi Sunak has also resigned. Cabinet dominos falling.. it’s over for Boris."
Piers then tweeted his thoughts to Boris, writing: "It’s over @BorisJohnson - resign."
Not one to let the opportunity to have a below the belt jibe go by, Piers also had a joke at the expense of the Deputy Prime Minister, Dominic Raab.
Piers joked: "More terrible news for Boris - Dominic Raab is NOT resigning."
The broadcaster then took the chance to promote his own show on TalkTV, which will be extended to discuss the latest Government crisis, as the Prime Minister teeters on the edge of his house of cards falling down.
He told his followers: "Going to be a very dramatic night in British politics. Will Boris Johnson be next to resign? I’ll now be anchoring an extended 2-hour special edition of @PiersUncensored from 8-10pm. We’ll have all the breaking news, analysis & big name guests to discuss this huge Govt crisis."
Piers wasn't finished there as he started hitting back at Tory MPs who backed the stricken PM.
One of the more staunch supporters of Boris, Nadine Dorries, who is the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, tweeted: "I’m not sure anyone actually doubted this, however, I am [100 emoji] behind @BorisJohnson the PM who consistently gets all the big decisions right."
Piers hit back at the minister, quote tweeting Nadine: "What about his consistent lies?"
With the story still evolving, it is certain that this isn't that last we have heard from Piers on the subject.
