Piers Morgan to host talk show from home after catching Covid

Piers Morgan will host his regular talk show from home after testing positive for Covid.

The TalkTV presenter posted a picture of his positive lateral flow test on Twitter and said he felt “rough as a badger’s a***”.

He added: “In the spirit of ‘The Show Must Go On’, I’m going to have a go at anchoring tonight’s Piers Uncensored live from my home. Tune in at 8pm, because anything could happen….”

Morgan said he had first tested negative twice before the positive result.

Responding to a tweet which asked him why he had shared the news, Morgan said: “I only said it because I’ve never hosted the show from my home before and it will look a bit odd to viewers.”

In 2021, the presenter revealed that he was battling symptoms of long Covid after contracting the virus at the Euro final in Wembley.

His symptoms included a raging fever, chills and violent coughing and sneezing fits.

He said he believes he caught the Delta variant of Covid at the sellout game between Italy and England.

Data from the Office for National Statistics shows being double-jabbed almost halves the likelihood of long Covid in adults who get the virus.

Morgan joined TalkTV last year after his dramatic exit from ITV’s Good Morning Britain over his reaction to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

He has since said that he chose to resign rather than apologise to the Duchess of Sussex.

Ofcom cleared ITV over the presenter’s remarks, which sparked a record number of 58,000 complaints.
