Piers Morgan tells Cristiano Ronaldo who to join after Manchester United star's bombshell interview

Piers Morgan has urged his beloved Arsenal to sign Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, 37, has taken centre stage at Old Trafford and beyond - once again - after sitting down with media figure Morgan for a bombshell interview in which the Portugal captain says United have "betrayed" him this campaign. He also claims Erik ten Hag and key figures behind the scenes have been "trying to force him out".

After re-signing for United last summer - in a sensational return transfer - Ronaldo wanted to leave the club before this season got underway. However, with no takers for him, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was forced to stay put and has played nothing more than a bit-part role on the pitch since Ten Hag was appointed as manager.

With snippets from the jaw-dropping sit down continuing to emerge on social media, media figure and Arsenal fan Morgan was a guest on radio station talkSPORT. During that appearance, talk turned to Arsenal and their pursuit for the Premier League title, but Morgan soon combined that with Ronaldo and his would-be departure.

He said: "Gabriel Jesus needs a scoring partner next to him. His heat map is so outrageous.

"Jesus covers so much ground, so actually what we [Arsenal] need is a fox in the box, a world-class player with bags of experience, who has won everything, to help us get over the line. I can think of somebody; Cristiano Ronaldo."

Morgan added: "I would take him for six months [at Arsenal] in a heartbeat. This idea of that Ronaldo suddenly can't play football... I'm sorry, but it's laughable."
