Controversial TV host Piers Morgan branded Liverpool fans as “pathetic” after booing the British national anthem on Saturday at Anfield.
The Reds announced on Friday that they would be playing 'God Save the King' before the match to mark the coronation of King Charles III. The news came after the Premier League "strongly suggested" all clubs play the anthem this weekend.
Alongside booing the national anthem ahead of kick-off, Liverpool fans could be heard chanting "You can stick your coronation up your a***" during the match. The Reds ran out 1-0 victors over Brentford to keep their slim hopes of a top four finish and Champions League qualification alive.
