Piers Morgan slams countries for 'failing our moral duty' in Ukraine's war with Russia

Piers Morgan has once again hit out with how the world is handling Russia's attack on Ukraine.

Ever since Vladimir Putin first took aim at Ukraine in February, the former Good Morning Britain presenter has criticised how other world leaders have handled the situation.

And overnight on Sunday, he shared another speech by Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.

In it, Ukraine's leader is heard telling 60 Minutes how he felt the countries of the world who didn't participate in the Second World War "carried responsibility for the genocide".

The translated video quotes a firm and intense looking Zelensky saying: "When you have the ability to close the sky, yes it's scary that a world war can start. It's scary I understand that and I cannot put pressure on these people because everyone is afraid of war.

"But whether the world is responsible for this - I believe so, yes. I believe so."

He continued: "Stand in front of the mirror every day and ask yourself were you able to do something or were you unable to do something?

"You will find the answer in the mirror to this question and to another question: Who are you? That's what I believe."

The clip was shared by actress Mia Farrow, who asked: "Do we, in other nations have a moral responsibility to stop Putin?"

It led Piers, 56, to hit out: "He's right. We are failing our moral duty."

His comments was met with a mixture of responses.

One user replied: "How many times do people have to say that it's not as simple as "take down the bad man!", whether we like it or not Putin has the capacity to make this far worse for everyone whether they're truly involved or not and that's not something to mess with."

Another agreed, telling Piers: "Everyone is doing what they can. If you can do better, go!"

However, some sided with the presenter, with one Twitter user saying: "Every now and then Morgan shows he has a decent moral compass. We should do more. This is a fight for the stability of Europe. We should take our share of the responsibility."

Last month, Piers yet again showed support to the Ukrainian president while hitting out at the UK's politicians.

Sharing an image of the Mirror's front page image of the politician with his fist in the air, Piers said: "Love this guy.

"Such an incredible leader, so astoundingly courageous. If only our politicians had an ounce of his cojones. Good luck."

Piers' message was similar to his most recent as he criticised how the world had let Russian leader Putin "bully them" as he commented hours earlier: "We know Putin’s convoy is about to reach Kyiv and start murdering many more women & children.
