Piers Morgan mocks calls for Boris Johnson to return to 'worst government' he's ever seen

Piers Morgan is far from impressed with calls to reinstate Boris Johnson as Prime Minister following Liz Truss ' resignation.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter, 57, took to his Uncensored TV programme to criticise the opinions of some that BoJo should walk back in to office.

He also mocked Liz Truss for having a shorter stint in Number 10 than the shelf life of a lettuce.

Not holding back, Piers told viewers of the TalkTV show: "Politics can be full of exaggeration. Everything is unprecedented, a crisis, treachery, a war. But let me be very, very clear tonight. It is literally impossible to exaggerate the scale of the bedlam that this government has unleashed on our country in the last few weeks.

"It's bar far the worst thing that I've ever seen by any government. These useless clowns have basically ravaged our country, sinking the pound, trashing the markets, sending our interest rates soaring."

He then went on to mock the length of time Liz stayed in power and said it's ridiculous for the country to have lost a prime minister "this quickly after all the chaos."

After questioning whether the Conservative party should still be trusted to lead the country or whether there should be another general election to sort out the mess, he added in a sarcastic, yet bemused tone: "Tonight there are calls for Boris Johnson, the recently disgraced prime minister who was kicked out by his own members of parliament - his own cabinet.

"That he should be the one who returns in glory just months later to save us from the mayhem he started. You couldn't make it up."

He concluded by saying, unfortunately that is the current state of the government and the country and confessed he was glad to be currently residing stateside in New York.

Earlier in the day he'd joked it was time for him to step up and sort the shambles, telling his 7.9 million Twitter followers it may well be up to him to save the country and added a preview pic of how he could look in power.
