Piers Morgan makes sarcastic comment over Prince Harry and Meghan's Russia statement

Piers Morgan has made a sarcastic dig at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after the couple released a statement about Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex condemned Vladimir Putin's actions and said they "stand with the people of Ukraine".

"Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and all of us at Archewell stand with the people of Ukraine against this breach of international and humanitarian law and encourage the global community and its leaders to do the same," the message, shared on their Archewell website reads.

However, former GMB presenter Piers Morgan was not impressed with the statement, The Mirror reports.

The 56-year-old took to Twitter to share his views and wrote: "This will really rattle Putin."

It comes after the presenter hit out at the actions of the Russian president a day earlier.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson had previously described how Putin has "chosen a path of bloodshed and destruction" and Piers took to social media to make his own feelings about the president clear.

Taking to Twitter, he said: "Putin’s invaded Ukraine. This is an act of war by a bully-boy thug who doesn’t think the rest of the world has the guts or will to stop him. Shameful."

He followed it up by adding: "Putin’s doing this because he got away with it last time in Crimea. And if he gets away with it again in Ukraine, he’ll keep invading other countries until he restores the Soviet Union.

"The world must unite to stop this ruthless dictator - before it’s too late."

But he was also far from impressed by the way US president Joe Biden addressed the situation.

Making his feelings known on the democrat's speech, he ranted: "Biden just laughed several times during his Ukraine press conference. What the f**k is he finding so funny?

"Does he not realise the gravity of this situation? Does he not care that so many innocent people are being murdered? What a horribly inappropriate and shameful moment."
