Piers Morgan hints Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo criticises Gary Neville in interview

Piers Morgan has suggested that Cristiano Ronaldo criticises Gary Neville in the Manchester United forward's now eagerly awaited interview with the broadcaster which will be aired in full later this week.

Ronaldo, 37, stunned Old Trafford when clips from his chat with Morgan emerged on Sunday night.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has endured a disappointing season, featuring sporadically and developing a fractious relationship with United manager Erik ten Hag.

Despite Ronaldo receiving some public backing from ex-teammates and high-profile pundits with United connections, Neville hasn't been as defensive of the former Real Madrid superstar and Ronaldo snubbed Neville pitch-side before the recent win over West Ham as a result.

Liverpool favourite Carragher was also blanked by Ronaldo earlier in the season. It means he and Neville have at least seen eye-to-eye on one subject, with media figure and Arsenal fanatic Morgan seemingly attempting divide the two pundits with comments made on Twitter on Monday afternoon.

Carragher appeared on Sky Sports to share his views on Ronaldo's interview with Morgan. He said: "Since he came back, it's basically been the Cristiano Ronaldo show. Sometimes that's been good with last season on the pitch he got a lot of goals.

"This season because he's not played a lot, it seems like he's craving the attention he can't get because he's not on the pitch, the only way he can do that is by causing trouble. That's exactly what he did and his intention last night."

Morgan retweeted a link from Football Daily which contained a snippet of that response from Carragher. In doing so, meanwhile, he dropped another hint at what is to come from the full-length interview.

While tagging the Liverpool grear, Morgan said: "You might change your mind about the interview when you hear what he says about @GNev2 [Gary Neville]."
