Piers Morgan has slammed the government amid calls for Boris Johnson to return as prime minister after Liz Truss announced her resignation yesterday.

Truss became the shortest-serving prime minister in the country’s history, with her tenure in Number 10 lasting just 45 days before she confirmed that she was stepping down from the job. Some Tory supporters and members of Parliament have called for Boris Johnson to step back into the role, amid reports that the former PM is considering running once again.

Piers Morgan has become the latest person to publicly criticise the government, branding the past few weeks “bedlam” as he appeared on his TalkTV show Piers Morgan Uncensored, The Mirror reports . He also mocked Truss for having her premiership outlasted by the Daily Star’s now infamous lettuce .
