Piers Morgan blasts Meghan and Harry before they even arrive at Queen funeral as he hosts US coverage

Piers Morgan has blasted Meghan Markle and Prince Harry before they even had the chance to arrive at the Queen's funeral.

The controversial former newspaper editor and TV host was installed as a guest on Fox News's coverage of the service at Westminster on Monday morning.

But he put the Sussexes on blast early in the coverage, accusing Meghan of just "wanting to be rich and famous" while saying he hopes that Harry "wakes up"

Morgan, who has been slammed by the majority of people for his views on the Royals in the past, began by saying: "We've all been following this soap opera drama... the bottom line is that it's hard to ignore them. When you have this renegade Royal Family [...] trying to have their royal cake and eat it," the Mirror UK report.

"But there have been some moments this week where you could have some sympathy with Prince Harry over his treatment opposed to his disgraced uncle Prince Andrew."

It is believed that he was referring to the removal of 'ER' from Harry's military attire while he was standing vigil over his grandmother's coffin.

Going on to address Harry's upcoming book, Piers snarled: "I hope something wakes up inside of him... I hope he pops the book," before turning on Meghan, saying: "She's probably a lost cause in this because she just wants to be rich and famous."

Britain has been in a period of mourning since the Queen's passing on September 8.

Her funeral procession began on Monday with Harry and Meghan in attendance, along with the various other members of the Royal Family.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin and President Michael D Higgins represented Ireland at the services.
