Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang slams Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta in leaked video: ‘He can’t handle big players!’

Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has hit out at Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, insisting his former boss cannot handle "big characters or big players".

The striker acrimoniously left the Gunners in January, having been stripped of the captaincy following a number of disciplinary problems.

Aubameyang's turbulent finals months at Arsenal were shown in detail over the summer with the release of Amazon Prime Video documentary series 'All or Nothing: Arsenal', which showed Arteta keeping a "catalogue of misdemeanours" by the striker before the striker was paid off to terminate his contract and join Barcelona.

Just seven months later Aubameyang was back in the Premier League and back in London with Chelsea, after a fruitful spell with Barca, and the 33-year-old was spoken about those final days with the Gunners.

"I remember [Barcelona] first called my father," Aubameyang told A Jewellers.

"We knew the coach, Xavi, then he called me and said there is an opportunity because you have those problems with Arsenal, but if you come you will help us a lot, so I said, ‘okay’.

"But to manage big characters or big players, [Arteta] can’t deal with it. He needs some young players, they don’t say anything, they listen."

Arteta's Arsenal side beat Liverpool on Sunday to remain top of the Premier League.
