Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's father played his part in securing his son's move from Arsenal to FC Barcelona in what was a dramatic deadline day for everyone involved.
Aubameyang was spotted landing at Barcelona airport on Monday morning in what many interpret as the striker arriving to head straight to the Blaugrana's headquarters to sign off on his Barcelona contract.
However, it quickly emerged that neither Barcelona nor Arsenal had actually expected or signed off on his arrival in the city and in fact the 32-year-old had taken it upon himself to visit in a bid to force through the deal of his own accord.
But Aubameyang's father, also named Pierre, owns property in Barcelona; his son knew full well being in the city on the day of the window's close was his best chance of securing the switch that he is so desperate for.

Though it remains unclear whether Arsenal knew about Aubameyang's trip to Barcelona, it is unlikely they harbour much anger given their desire to shift him off the wage bill.
Arsenal will save £25million in wages with Aubameyang's free transfer to Camp Nou.
The former Arsenal captain has previously discussed how it has always been a "dream" of his to one day ply his trade in Spain.
While a Borussia Dortmund player, Aubameyang visited the small town of El Barraco - a place where his mother's side of the family originated which in turn sparked the striker's desire to one day play his football in the country.
"For me it is a dream to play here in Spain, because here I have part of my family," he told the Avila newspaper.
"It has been my dream since I was very little. I'm happy to be here because it has been a while."
But interestingly, it was Real Madrid whom he wanted to join, he declared in an interview with L'Equipe.
“My childhood dream? To play at Real Madrid," Aubameyang declared. "In 2014, before he died, I promised my grandfather who was from Avila, 110 kilometers from Madrid, that I would play there. It will be complicated, but it sits in a corner of my head.
“When I was a kid, I watched Hugo Sanchez videos. The backflip I sometimes do when I score is actually an homage to him.
"Real Madrid, or another great Spanish club, would also be a great gift to my mother."
From an Arsenal perspective, Aubameyang's departure leaves the Gunners desperately short in terms of attacking options.
Mikel Arteta now has just two recognised strikers to choose from in Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah, both of whom are out of contract come the end of the season.
