Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to have a medical this evening ahead of his move to Barcelona from Arsenal, football.london understands.
The 32-year-old's switch to the Nou Camp appeared to be off earlier in the day as he arrived in Catalonia before the two clubs had managed to find an agreement.
But now it appears that the pair have reached a deal for the former Borussia Dortmund forward to join La Blaugrana with Barca president Joan Laporta stating "it seems that we will pull it off," before Monday night's 11pm deadline.
The news comes amid plenty of uncertainty over the future of the centre forward position at Arsenal.
As things stand the Gunners' main two options are set to be Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah, despite some late interest from Newcastle in the latter.
Aubameyang was frozen out of the squad after being stripped of the club captaincy last month following a "disciplinary breach," with Arsenal now happy to let him leave.
The 32-year-old had been subject of interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia who were willing to pay his salary until the end of the season, however, it is understood that the player would prefer to stay in Europe.
Barcelona and PSG both showed a desire to sign the Gabon international until the end of the campaign, and it is thought that he will make a decision on his future before the transfer window closes on Monday.
There have been some reports that Aubameyang's exit could spark a late move to bring in a striker, with Real Sociedad's Alexander Isak and Jonathan David of Lille both linked.
As things stand, the Gunners have only made one first team signing in January with 23-year-old Auston Trusty signing from Stan Kroenke owned team Colorado Rapids, although he will be loaned back to the MLS side until the summer.
