Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Thiago Silva agree on Rafael Leao amid Chelsea transfer links

Chelsea stars Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Thiago Silva have agreed in their assessment of AC Milan forward Rafael Leao.

Leao has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent months with the Portuguese winger's current deal at San Siro set to expire in 2024. The 23-year-old has already registered 11 goal contributions in 10 appearances so far this season after enjoying a brilliant campaign with the Italian giants last term and helping Milan win the Serie A title.

Leao was full of praise for his potential future teammate Reece James after the Blues ran out 3-0 winners in the crucial Champions League match on Wednesday evening. Former Chelsea star Joe Cole raised issues over the 23-year-old's attitude after the game, something which could possibly hinder Leao's chances of a future transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Despite not getting on the scoresheet, the AC Milan superstar proved to be a constant threat to Graham Potter's side and caught the eye of Aubameyang and Silva ahead of the reverse fixture next week. After the game, the former was full of praise for Leao and labelled him an 'incredible player'.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, when asked about the Portuguese winger Aubameyang responded: "He is an incredible player, truly impressive. He is very fast, powerful, he can make a difference at any moment. Nothing else to say except that he is incredible."

Chelsea's Brazilian defender agreed with his teammate and admitted if Leao had scored at the end of the first half then the result could have been very different for the Blues. Silva said: "Milan were in difficulty because Chelsea had a great game.

"It’s normal that if one team plays well the other struggles. Then it all depends, if Leao scored that goal at the end of the first half it would’ve changed the game completely.

“I always tell my players, within a game there are many games. If he had scored at that moment, the second half would’ve been a different match. It was important not to concede that goal. Then in the second half we played well and Milan struggled a bit, but Tuesday will be a different game.”
