The skies may be grey and rainy, but the atmosphere at Aintree Racecourse today is nothing short of electric.
The weather gods have not looked kindly on the huge racing event, but after weeks - if not months - of planning, people are clearly not letting this spoil their day.
Thousands of people have descended on Aintree Racecourse today, with gates opening early at 10.30am. As it's Ladies Day, people are putting their best fashion foot forward as they pull out all the stops to look amazing.

Ladies Day also sees the return of the coveted Style Award, which sees the best dressed bagging a lucrative prize of a holiday worth £5,000 and £1,500 spending money, a £1,000 donation to your chosen charity, a £300 House of Cavani voucher and in store experience, two Garden Club Tickets to Ladies Day 2024, and a Randox Health full-body package.
With people having spent so much time, money and effort on their appearances, they have found some clever ways to keep dry today. From ponchos to umbrellas, and even an Asda bag, racegoers are making sure their hair and outfits are protected from the weather.
Check out some people we spotted partying in the rain in the gallery above. We'll be following the Grand National Festival live across all three days. For all the latest results, weather and fashion updates, follow here
