Pick your own pumpkin event returns to Avon Valley in just a couple of weeks

It’s hard to believe but in just a couple of weeks it will be October, which means Halloween is just around the corner. Whether you're looking forward to boozy Halloween events for adults in Bristol, or are having a family-friendly end to October, there's one thing that's fun for adults and children - pumpkin picking.

There are a range of pick-your-own fruit farms around Bristol which have been busy growing thousands of pumpkins ready for October 31, including Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park.

The pick your own pumpkin patch officially opens for business on Saturday, October 1, and will be open every weekend in October as well as Friday, October 21 and every day during Half Term from October 24 to October 30.

Tickets for children and adults cost £4.99, and you will then need to pay for any pumpkins you pick as well.

Last year’s event sold-out so visitors are being warned to book early to avoid disappointment.

As well as pumpkin picking there’s plenty of other attractions to keep big and small kids entertained, including a food tent and live music, kids entertainment and an apple cannon.
