Pick your Newcastle starting XI for Liverpool clash as Howe faces Wilson and Willock decisions

Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe faces a selection decision with Callum Wilson for the home clash with Liverpool. The Magpies' number nine missed a return to Bournemouth last weekend with a 'minor complaint', and is expected to complete training on Friday ahead of the St James' Park showdown.

Alexander Isak started in Wilson's absence at the Vitality Stadium, and could keep his place to lead the line against the team he scored against on his debut in August. Howe could also consider a midfield reshuffle, with Joe Willock ruled out of the encounter with the Reds due to a hamstring injury.

Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin are both 'fine' to play against Liverpool, despite both attackers being withdrawn with injury concerns in the 1-1 draw with the Cherries. January signing Anthony Gordon is still waiting to make his full Newcastle debut having made two substitute appearances so far, while Bruno Guimaraes will serve the final match of his suspension.

Howe made one enforced change to his starting eleven for the draw at Bournemouth, with Isak replacing Wilson. At least one change is on the cards for the latest teamsheet, with Willock a confirmed absentee.
