Leeds United kick off their third consecutive season of Premier League football with a home match against Wolves on Saturday. The Whites will be looking to do something they have not done in each of their last two campaigns and start the season with a win.
Jesse Marsch will have a number of new players to pick from for the clash at Elland Road, though injury has already hit his squad hard. Illan Meslier is, of course, set to start in goal, behind a back four of Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Pascal Struijk.
The likes of Leo Hjelde and Cody Drameh are Marsch’s only other options in defence, with Luke Ayling, Liam Cooper, Junior Firpo and Stuart Dallas all absent. In midfield, new signings Marc Roca and Tyler Adams look set to start their first competitive match together after forming an impressive early partnership in pre-season.

Mateusz Klich aside, Leeds’ midfield options on the bench will also be youthful with Darko Gyabi and Archie Gray potentially making the squad in Adam Forshaw’s absence. With Daniel James suspended and Luis Sinisterra injured, the attack also appears to pick itself.
Just like against Cagliari on Sunday, Brenden Aaronson, Rodrigo Moreno, Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford look set to start in the front four. Fresh from signing long-term deals on Tuesday, Sam Greenwood, Crysencio Summerville and Joe Gelhardt will provide Marsch with his attacking options on the bench.
