Piastri believes he's in control of F1 title destiny

Oscar Piastri remains confident he can control his own destiny in the world Formula One drivers championship race despite having been effectively ordered by his team to give up points to his teammate and main rival Lando Norris at Monza last time out.

Still with a healthy 31-point lead to protect going into this weekend's Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which he won in Baku last year, the Australian driver reckoned he was comfortable with the "good discussions" in the McLaren team since the much debated place-swap which cost him at the Italian Grand Prix.

And as the debate continued to rage about whether Piastri had been hard done to over Norris's slow pit stop which caused the dilemma, the championship pacesetter was evidently determined not to make any waves within the camp as he insisted that he hadn't deserved to finish ahead of Norris anyway.
